The prime cattle yarded found slightly stronger participation while feeder cattle and weaner steers remained firm but lighter heifers from a limited yarding were harder to place.
Braford cross bullocks 590kg sold to 150c/kg or $890 and TJ and SL Clarke sold droughtmaster bullocks 625kg to 145c/kg or $910.
Odd single heavy cows sold to 120c/kg or $780.
Robert Roth penned hereford cows 587kg to return $676 or 115c/kg.
Wayne Goody sold santa cows 534kg to realise 115c/kg or $615 and Rob and Sharon Ramage sold brahman cows to 115c/kg or $550.
Plain boner cows sold from 68c to 97c/kg.
Only smaller numbers of heifers were yarded with the lead trade heifers topping at 145c/kg or $560 and older heifers selling to $730 or 145c/kg.
DJ Zieth Cattle Co sold brahman-cross No 3 steers 468kg to $713 or 152c/kg.
Reg and Di Kerle’s santa cross No 3 steers sold to $665 while Bob Schutt’s droughtmaster No 3 steers 423kg sold to $635.
Daphne Morgan, Kooroora, Mungungo, sold santa weaner steers to 160c/kg or $430.
Bruce and Sue Mikkelsen, Wiluna, charbrays and charolais, sold 262kg weaner steers to $406.
John Cahalane’s droughtmaster-cross weaner steers sold for $356 or 150c/kg and Peter Kirkwood’s braford weaner steers 297kg sold to 152c/kg or $452.
Roy May’s murray grey weaner steers sold for 157c/kg or $412.
Kev and AileenWyatte sold charbray 340kg No 3 heifers to 131c/kg or $447 and red brahman heifers 340kg to $451.
Wiluna Charbrays sold charbray weaner heifers to 121c/kg or $290.

WITH one meatworks ceasing operations due to a breakdown, meatworks cattle were cheaper overall, while store cows were a little dearer at the meatworks and store sale at Biggenden on July 21.
Bullocks topped at 162.2c/kg for some two tooth bullocks but sold from six to eight cents cheaper.
Heavy fat cows topped at 115c/kg to average seven cents cheaper while lighter store cows were three to 12 cents dearer.
Crescent Pastoral Co, Biggenden, sold cows for 115c/kg or $730/head.
Maitland Bros, Boompa, sold limousin cows for 114.2c/kg or $605.
Not many trade heifers were yarded and averaged seven cents cheaper.
Only a couple of bulls were yarded averaging firm.
CJWesche, Bundaberg, sold a charbray bull for 134.2c/kg or $1140.
Some good quality stores were yarded and prices were a little dearer throughout.
Steers 400-500kg didn’t reach the highs of the previous sale, although they averaged slightly dearer.
RJ & KJ Preston, Eidsvold, sold charbray steers for 170c/kg or $763/head.
M, WJ and SM Campbell, Cordalba, sold droughtmaster steers for 165c/kg or $721/head.
Steers 300-400kg topped very close to the last sale, but averaged eight cents dearer.
Laufer and Sons, Bundaberg, sold brangus steers for 160.2c/kg or $619/head.
GR & TN Oppermann, Gayndah, sold brahman steers for 157.2c/kg or $607/head.
The lead of the weaner steers yarded were very good quality topping at 181.2c/kg to average 14 to 21 cents dearer.
Paul Hofstetter, Morganville, sold charbray weaner steers for 181.2c/kg.
Chess Park, Eidsvold, sold droughtmaster weaner steers for 177.2c/kg or $438/head.
Only 66 heifers were yarded in the 300-400kg range and were of very mixed quality and averaged seven cents cheaper.
Some good quality weaner heifers were also yarded and averaged one to six cents dearer.
Paul Hofstetter, Morganville, sold charbray weaner heifers for 129.2c/kg or $300/head.
R and JF Johnson, Bundaberg, sold charbray weaner heifers for 130c/kg or $364/head.
Eight cows and calves were yarded topping at $440.
The 1252 head were drawn from Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Mt Perry, Gayndah, Booubyjan, Bells Bridge, Theebine, Thinoomba, Beelbi Creek, Hervey Bay, Howard, Childers, Goodwood, Bundaberg, South Kolan, Bucca, Yandaran, Rosedale, Lowmead, Miriam Vale, Gin Gin, Booyal and all local areas.

Burnett Livestock & Realty’s Lance Whitaker with droughtmaster cross EU weaner steers on account of Chess Park, Eidsvold. The steers sold for 177.2c/kg or $438/head.
