Doctor spreads health message
MONTO’S Melissa Dowling joined forces with motivational health speaker Dr Peter Dingle on Sunday, in a campaign to get people inspired about being healthy.
“I saw Dr Dingle speak in Biloela last year and it well and truly changed my lifestyle, so I knew I had to get him to come spread his message in Monto,” she said.
The whole-of-life approach and a colourful delivery method shakes up Dr Dingle’s message from anything run-of-the-mill.
He believes gratitude, meditation, healthy choices and common sense are all just as important as exercise and nutrition in living a healthy life.
But when it does come to diet, the superfoods Dr Dingle swears by are vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds, with beetroot being the nutritional holy grail.
Mrs Dowling said her husband Scott has even taken Dr Dingle’s advice when it came to farming choices.
“He explains how bad toxins are for you, they destroy your organs and are stored as fat, so we are spraying with trace minerals like zinc now,” she said.
But it is Mrs Dowling’s commitment to gratitude and meditation that has had the biggest effect on her life.
