Volleyballers hit the road to state trials
MONTO State High School volleyballers are off to the Senior School’s Cup in Toowoomba today. The three-day competition from August 8–10 will see the girls battle school teams from all over the state. Coach Danielle Sinclair said as the team has kids as young as 15 competing with the seniors, they would be working extra hard to come out on top. “They learn so much at the tournament, and it is great for team bonding,” she said. Utility player Sammi-Jo Pointon said she had even stopped playing netball so she wouldn’t injure herself for the big volleyball competition. “I love my team and I’m looking forward to coming up with a good cheer on the bus trip down,” she said.
