Customers make hotel a success

Central and North Burnett Times - - TASTE BUDS OF BIGGENDEN -

COMMERCIAL Hotel owners Col Johnston and Kay Williams have only been hoteliers for less than a year, but already they know what makes the industry so great.

“It is the people,” she said.

“The customers are just great and the town is great.

“When we took over (in February) a lot of people came in and offered to help.”

Kay and Col have never owned a hotel, but the two have the hospitality experience that really makes the hotel shine.

“We were working in Mackay so we bought it as an investment,” Ms Williams said.

Kay and Col are passing on that hospitality to their customers.

Not only to the regulars that come in for a drink and a chat, but the team offer a warm welcome to whatever travellers pass through the door.

“We do have the regulars, but we also have a lot of caravaners who come in for a meal when passing through.”

On Wednesday, customers of the hotel can catch the weekly pool competition.

If darts are more your thing, then there is a dart competition also held at the hotel.

The latest addition at the hotel is a partnership with Bottlemart Express, which gives customers more monthly deals.

POPULAR: The Commercial Hotel-Motel, Biggenden is the place to head to for a meal.
