Fond memories for Donna

DONNA Baker’s most memorable moments as Queensland’s 2013 Miss Showgirl came on her last two days in the job.

She sashed Teebar’s Sophie Hughes in as her replacement on Friday, and on the Thursday?

“I got engaged at the Brisbane Exhibition,” Ms Baker said.

“It was overlooking the centre ring; very romantic and a very big surprise.”

Fiancee Kris Dingle had held off for a passionate moment, with centre ring being special as both of them show Red Brangus stud cattle, she explained.

Ms Baker, the Burnett’s fifth Queensland Miss Showgirl, has many fond memories of her year representing Queensland agricultural shows.

“It’s the first time in the North Burnett to have two (Miss Showgirls) in a row,” Ms Baker said.

“I couldn’t be any more proud for the sash to go to another girl from the North Burnett.”

But Ms Baker’s life as Queensland Miss Showgirl is not yet over.

“When you hand over the sash, there are still a lot of commitments; you have the title ‘for life’,” Ms Baker said.”
