QCWA dish up goods
QCWA in Mundubbera took on a Vietnamese flavour last Saturday with a full house of members and friends in for some Asian delights.
For master of ceremonies David Roach, he has seen many sides to the country.
“As a Vietnam veteran, I have seen this country in many lights,” Mr Roach said.
“It is a wondrous place with a backdrop of mountains and jungle.
“The people and especially the children are beautiful and hold a special place in my heart.”
The Vietnamese are descendants of nomadic Mongols from China and migrants from Indonesia.
Mundubbera CWA holds a day each year showcasing the food and the traditions of a foreign country.
CWA members prepared a hearty Vietnamese lunch.
CWA co-ordinator for the day, Trish Daffey, said the day went well and the food was delicious.
“Thank you to all who attended today and I am so pleased with Mr David Roach’s presentation,” Mrs Daffey said.
Jenny Roach has moved from Vietnam with her mum and now lives in Mundubbera and loves to call Australia home.
There is never a dull moment at the Mundubbera CWA, the ladies are crafting things, painting things, sowing things and they are now planning a super garden party on October 11.
