Win against Theodore a turning point for Tigers

Central and North Burnett Times - - SPORT -

THE pivotal game of the season for the Mundubbera Tigers was the away game against Theodore in July.

The Tigers won that game against the competition leaders convincingly.

From that game on the Tiger were grand final contenders.

Having the same players on the field every week has made a vast difference to their game, and consistency on the training paddock has paved the way for combinations to form.

Tigers’s forward pack has worked hard on their fitness and they have been working with captain/coach Bert Beezley on running hard up the middle of the ruck.

Beezley has also been able to show his men how to slow down the game and then run the ball hard to link up with the backs.

The Theodore game was the one that instilled confidence in the team, so they are now able to throw the ball out at will, then slow the game down and use their power in the middle of the field pushing up through the forwards.

Beezley’s team is going to be hard to stop on Saturday afternoon.
