TUES­DAY’S com­bined agents sale in Mur­gon saw num­bers back to 650.

The mar­ket for feeder types was firm on the last sale and some im­prove­ment was no­tice­able in the cow mar­ket.

Lesser qual­ity, light con­di­tioned weaner steers and heifers were still dif­fi­cult to mar­ket.

Cat­tle were drawn from Mun­dub­bera, Gayn­dah, Mt Perry, Biggen­den, Kin­garoy and lo­cally.

Char­bray bul­locks from Mur­gon sold to $901 at $1.55/kg and $931 at $1.51/kg.

Bulls topped at $931 and $1.43/kg.

The heav­i­est cows topped at $848 for $1.22/kg.

Santa cows from Manum­bar sold to $686 at $1.13/kg.

Drought­mas­ter cows from Mur­gon sold for $1.15/kg to re­turn $665.

480kg charo­lais cows from Gayn­dah sold to $551 at $1.14/kg.

Lighter cows sold mainly from 80c/kg to $1/kg.

515kg char­bray steers from Mur­gon sold to feed­lot­ters for $849 at $1.65/kg.

440kg drought­mas­ter cross steers on ac­count of M and C Ward, Mur­gon, sold for $748 and $1.70/kg.

Bran­gus steers from Gayn­dah sold for $589 at $1.63/kg and $530 at $1.57/kg.

370kg brah­man steers from Durong sold for $577 at $1.56/kg.

Light euro cross steers from Mur­gon sold to $303 at $1.50/kg.

Drought­mas­ter cross heifers from Mur­gon weigh­ing 427kg sold for $654 at $1.53/kg.

390kg brah­man cross heifers from Goomeri sold to $613 at $1.55/kg.

357kg drought­mas­ter cross heifers from Nanango sold for $1.52/kg re­turn­ing $544.

Fresher vealer heifers sold mainly from $1.10 to $1.20/kg top­ping at $1.33/kg.

MONTO Cat­tle and Coun­try yarded 515 head for their fort­nightly Fat and Store Sale.

Prime cat­tle sold to rates sim­i­lar to last sale but store cat­tle saw gains mainly for weaner steers and all types of heifers.

Heavy bulls sold from 110 to 135c/kg.

PJ Ste­wart penned 560kg sim­brah steers which sold for 153c/kg or $860.

Pat Wil­liams sold 525kg santa cross trade steers to 150c/kg or $790 and GR Tal­bot’s bran­gus cross trade steers 460kg sold to 153c/kg or $705.

Garth and Pam O’Dell sold an­gus cross cows 505kg to 110c/kg or $555.

John Dent sold 517kg bran­gus cows to 111.2c/kg or $575.

Store cows sold from 75c/kg to 95c/kg while trade heifers sold from 133 to 140c/kg or $690.

T Cogzell sold charo­lais no 3 steers to 165c/kg or $665.

Barry and Ev Power yarded santa no 3 steers 432kg to re­turn $700 or 162c/kg and Ross Grav­ing, Lowmead, sold brah­man no 3 steers 410kg to $650 or 158c/kg.

Garth O’Dell’s charo­lais cross weaner steers skid to 171c/kg or $397.

Est Peter Power sold bran­gus weaner steers to $540 and $430 or 165c/kg.

Peter and Anne-Ma­ree Kirk­wood’s braford weaner steers sold to 173c/kg or $473.

Walk­ers Creek Graz­ing sold 370kg drought­mas­ter no 3 heifers to 157c/kg or $585.

Lurline Grav­ing sold a run of bran­gus and brah­man cross no three heifers 280-320kg which sold from 123 to 154c/kg and av­er­aged 137c/kg.

WJ Gray sold char­bray no 3 heifers to 140c/kg or $430.

Neville and Jenny Keit­ley sold char­bray heifers 236kg to $356 or 135c/kg and weaner heifers to 147c/kg or $310.

Richy Bow­man’s char­bray cross weaner heifers sold to 140c/kg or $295.

Monto’s next fort­nightly sale is set down for Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 20, and will be fol­lowed by the An­nual Spring Store Sale on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 3.

Cat­a­logues for the all breeds Bull Sale on Satur­day, Septem­ber 13, will be avail­able from Au­gust 20.
