Women’s trade displays popular

Central and North Burnett Times - - WHITAKER OPEN DAY -

TRADE displays for men and women will once again feature at this year’s Whitaker Open Day.

Clint and Robyn Whitaker, of Mundubbera, are again ensuring a variety of trade displays will be on offer to complement their beef cattle event to be held on August 22.

“Last year we introduced a ladies’ section to our day and it went off a treat,” Mrs Whitaker said.

“So this year we plan to encompass the concept again and already we’ve had ladies saying they’re coming.”

Open day patrons will not only have the women’s section on offer, but also there will be the usual array of rural-based businesses.

Attendees in the past have said they enjoyed the laidback, relaxed atmosphere of the day.

The advantage of the open day is that attendees are able to have direct interaction with the trades and reps, as opposed to the hustle and bustle of the major field days.

The focus of the organisers is to have something for everyone.

Leading animal health companies will attend, along with feed companies, rural stores, steel supplies and car sales.

The trades help us out on the day by providing the lucky gate prizes drawn at the close of the day.

Toyota, displaying the latest motoring options, along with Kymco ATVs and Stihl power equipment.

DJ’s Steel and Concrete will provide an array of products stocked at their Monto and Eidsvold outlets.

Darr Creek rural supplies will again return with a range of primary producer specials.

Advance Motors, Dalby, will show their motor bike, quad bike and ATV options.

TOPX Eidsvold represents another exciting rural options business.

“The trades help us out on the day by providing the lucky gate prizes drawn at the close of the day,” Mr Whitaker said.

“Visitors are urged to register at the welcome tent.

“In doing so they will be assured entry into the lucky gate draws.

“Previously we’ve had around 15 separate draws each year so (given the free admission) it maybe well worth the effort to attend.”
