Man of match proud

Central and North Burnett Times - - RUGBY LEAGUE GRAND FINAL 2014 -

CENTRAL Burnett Rugby League grand final man of the match and Gladiators captain Jaybin Pearce was proud of his team’s effort in the game.

“What can I say? We played the game to win and we just didn’t get there,” Pearce said.

After going down to Mundubbera 29–26 in the grand final on Saturday, Pearce was bitterly disappointed at not getting a win.

“I thought we had the advantage in the wet conditions and I think I was right,” Pearce said.

“If the game had gone for just another 10 minutes I think our young guns would have run them down.

“At the time I scored my second try I thought we would catch them.”

Since coming into the final series, the Gayndah Gladiators have performed well at the right end of the season.
