THE Thurs­day Sporters 9 Hole Sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion was played on Au­gust 14 with 15 play­ers. Sev­eral Gayn­dah play­ers spent the week at Coun­try Week in Bris­bane which af­fected num­bers.

The win­ner on the day was Tim Ul­coq on 27 points. Runner up was Rita Alsemgeest 26 points, Brad Schif­fke 26 points. Pin­shots went to Ladies no 1: Jan Bourke; 3/12: Scott Clib­born; 5/14: Brad Schif­fke; Putting Com­pe­ti­tion: Jean Hav­lik.

Wel­come rain on Au­gust 17 kept the play­ers away on Satur­day.

Tues­day Vet­eran’s 9 Hole Stroke Com­pe­ti­tion was played on Au­gust 12 with 10 play­ers

Win­ner: Rita Alsemgeest 26 ½ nett; R/U: Rod Ul­coq 27 nett; Pin­shot on 14: John Mor­gan; Putting com­pe­ti­tion: Rita Alsemgeest. Rule of the week: If the ball falls from the tee and the swing is aborted, there is no penalty – re-tee. If the swing is com­pleted, there is no penalty, but count one stroke for com­pleted swing. The ball is in play and can­not be re-teed with­out penalty.
