THINK big.

That’s hairdresser Melissa Hill’s advice to fashions on the fields contender’s at the Monto Races next week.

The secret behind her innovative hairstyling is guaranteed to get results.

“I always save long, curly hair from haircuts to recycle in big hairstyles,” she said, as she practised the technique on model Maddy Dugdale last Tuesday.

“I think you’d definitely win fashions on the field if you took this style at the Monto Races.”

The hair she used to style Maddy’s towering up-do was saved after a Shave for a Cure event at the Monto Hospital earlier this year.

Mrs Hill said the 1960s hairstyles were back and recommended beehive buns and Audrey Hepburn bobs for the August 30 race day.

“Even if you’re not brave enough for this avant-garde style, I think people should go big with their hairstyles and fascinators,” she said.

“The races are a great chance to have fun and go a bit over the top.”

Feathery fascinators and oversized hats would be a perfect choice.
