Young sister act loves Ekka
Radke girls saddle up for success in show’s pony events
THREE Radke girls came home from the Ekka with memories and ribbons from their first royal show.
Monogorilby sisters Grace, 5, Eve, 6, and Jill Radke, 8, competed for the first time at the Brisbane Ekka in the pony events.
They rode their great aunt Gloria Parker’s black pony, Montego Showgirl.
Grace won first prize in the girl rider 5 years and under 6 years.
“The Ekka was the best show ever,” Grace said.
Managing to keep their nerves under control, the three girls were up against some stiff competition . They managed to take out placings in all their classes.
“It was so much fun riding in the big ring,” Jill said.
“I caught up with my old friends and I made a new one.
“The night show at the Ekka was excellent but the fireworks were the best.”
