Deputy premier keen to help find solution

SINCE amalgamation, people in Eidsvold have been demanding a boat ramp they can use at Kirar Weir. And with Jeff Seeney now onboard, Eidsvold might just get on the water. “I was unaware there was still no public access to the Kirar waters,” the Deputy Premier said. The existing ramp was built by Eidsvold Shire Council with grant money only to find they had built in the exclusion zone, that is within 100m of the weir wall. The state transport department has issued a demolition order and so the community has had no water access. Mr Seeney said his government could be “in a position to fund such a project in Eidsvold”. “We can work together to provide the facility for visitors and the community,” Mr Seeney said.
