Activities pose hearing risk

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

WHILE Australians recognise the impact loud nightclubs and headphones have on their hearing, the biggest threat seems to go under the radar. Everyday noises, such as rubbish trucks and lawn mowers take their toll, but research shows most people are unaware. A survey has shown 50% of adults aged 18–64 think about the impact an activity has on their hearing but fewer than 23% believe their hearing is affected by everyday activities. Hearing Awareness Week began on August 25.
