Plans spark big row
NEIGHBOURS are hoping plans for a new development on their doorstep are less than set in concrete.
With a proposal for Baldwins Sand, Gravel and Concrete to set up shop on Luthje Rd in Monto going before North Burnett Regional Council next month, residents are scrambling to file submissions of protest.
“The site is right at the south-west corner of town,” neighbour Cameron Marbach said.
“So when a wind from the south-east, the most common wind for Monto, comes up, it will carry that concrete dust all over the town.”
Jill and John Dahtler’s new house is 60m away from the proposed site. Other homes are nearby.
“We only have until September 4 to place our submissions,” Mr Marbach said.
“It really feels like this is happening very quickly.”
