Prizemoney expected to draw record entries
MT PERRY’S annual art exhibition is expected to be the biggest on record after prizemoney was doubled to $7000 and a section added. Gallery director Shelley Kelly said the 20th annual exhibition had attracted about 200 more entries across sections, with the new acquisitive section being “a wonderful coup”. Made possible by Evolution Mining’s $2000 donation, local and visiting artists have painted local identities, buildings, landmarks and landscapes. “The art exhibition has 12 sections which cater to most forms of art,” Shelley said. Friday’s launch at 7pm will be opened by general manager of Evolution Mining’s Mount Rawdon operation at Mt Perry, Mark Boon. Art will be on sale at the gallery until 1pm on Sunday, September 7.
