Central and North Burnett Times - - VOICE OF THE BURNETT -

WITH the visit by the state ministers and federal member, as well as the deputy CEO of Sunwater, to officially open the new water supply at Gayndah, and the flooded section of the Gayndah-Mundubbera Rd, it signifies the coming to an end of the flood recovery works across the region.

Mundubbera water supply and the Humphrey-Binjour Range Rd will be open very shortly as well.

The Waratah and Dahtler bridges at Mungungo, the Cattle Creek crossing at Monto, as well as water and sewerage works, have all been completed within the framework set by the federal and state governments, and are a credit to our staff as well as the contractors involved.

Many local contractors have worked strenuously on projects and their good work can be seen by all.

It was excellent to receive a letter from a Canberra couple who have been travelling throughout Queensland and were very impressed by their reception at Monto.

They were made most welcome by businesses and townspeople generally and as a result thoroughly enjoyed their stay.

– Mayor Don Waugh
