Get home and get fed after Monto races

Central and North Burnett Times - - MONTO RACES -

HAVING a yarn and meeting new faces are GeorgeWanders’ favourite things about being a taxi driver.

And, no doubt, with the Monto races on this weekend, he’ll get plenty of opportunities to do both.

“I don’t mind not going to the races because it’s usually a party enough for me in the cab,” MrWanders said.

“I’m quite looking forward to it.”

The dedicated driver said he would work all day and as late as he was called out for Saturday’s event.

A shuttle from in Monto township to the race course will have no extra charge for people who stop at the Duck Inn.

“We will have Chinese takeaway in a hotbox ready for people to just grab and go,” Duck Inn’s Pam Toms said.

“We will also have our entire usual menu on offer but, if people don’t want to wait, the Chinese will be a great option.”

MrWanders said he would certainly anticipate having at least his fair share of Chinese tucker during the course of the night.
