Mun­dub­bera men air­lifted

CAREF­LIGHT was kept busy with two res­cues in the North Bur­nett re­gion last week.

On Fri­day a man in his 50s sus­tained a sus­pected frac­tured leg and frac­tured arm after fall­ing from a grain truck.

RACQ CareF­light Res­cue’s Sun­shine Coast-based he­li­copter was tasked on a hos­pi­tal trans­fer to air­lift the in­jured man about 3.30pm.

The CareF­light crew flew to Mun­dub­bera Hos­pi­tal to re­trieve the pa­tient. He was trans­ferred to Nam­bour Hos­pi­tal for fur­ther treat­ment.

On Thurs­day CareF­light’s Bund­aberg he­li­copter was flown to a prop­erty at Glen­rae, 10km south of Mun­dub­bera, to air­lift a man in his 60s who fell from a horse.

The crew landed at the prop­erty at noon. He was treated for chest in­juries and sus­pected spinal in­juries be­fore be­ing flown to Bund­aberg Base Hos­pi­tal.
