Play­ers en­joy so­cial bowls

BIGGEN­DEN Bowls Club de­cided to have a party on Fri­day night to try to en­cour­age more play­ers onto the green.

A free sausage siz­zle started the fes­tiv­i­ties be­fore 12 play­ers took part in a game of so­cial bowls.

Green­keeper Jack Ran­dall said the club was en­cour­ag­ing more res­i­dents to go along of a Fri­day night to en­joy a game of bowls or a chat and a drink at the bar.

“Names are to be in by 6pm for a 6.30pm start,” he said

Mem­bers will be busy for the next two week­ends, at­tend­ing Pork Day at Bin­jour on Satur­day and Pres­i­dent’s Day at Goomeri on Sun­day.

Biggen­den will host the men’s two-day car­ni­val from Oc­to­ber 11–12.

“At this stage we have 12 teams at­tend­ing,” Mr Ran­dall said.

In other news, the club has re­ceived a grant for a new col­d­room.
