Jock knows course like back of hand
JOCK Zipf has played a few rounds of golf around the Mundubbera Golf Course – in fact he has swung his golf clubs about 9,000,000 times there.
Jock grew up in Mundubbera and now works in real estate.
“I started playing golf when I was about 11 or 12 and I have always played on weekends when I can,” he said.
“The Mundubbera club is a friendly club and no matter who I am teamed up with I always have a good day.”
Jock likes to play the long holes at the Mundubbera course, and the seventh hole is his favourite.
The uphill drives have to be long to get to the green in three shots, and hitting into the prevailing wind sometimes makes it even harder.
It is also easy to go out of bounds if your third shot is too long.
Jock said the 403m second hole was the toughest hole on the course.

There’s out of bounds on the right, with rough, trees and gravel to the left.
“Every time I walk onto the tee at the second I have a plan to beat it,” he said.
“I am the captain of the club today and I have held many different positions over the years.
“This is the second time I have been captain, I have been president twice and I am always happy to be part of this great country golf club.”
Jock is very much looking forward to this weekend’s golf and said there would be games on Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday.
But the main competition days are Saturday and Sunday.
There will be a great family feel on Saturday night with a barbecue.
