Wet a line and catch a prize
CAP off the school holidays by taking the family down for a great weekend of fishing. Mundubbera is the place to be this Saturday and Sunday for the Annual Three Rivers Fishing Classic.
“It is good to see so many juniors and families coming to the event,” organiser Suzanne Mobbs said.
“The rivers have been fishing very well over the past weeks with some nice yellowbelly, bass and the odd silver being caught below and above the weir.”
Competitors don’t need to fish to nominate, and can still go in the draw to win prizes.
“Competitors who want to fish can angle the three rivers surrounding Mundubbera, which are the Auburn River, Boyne River and the Burnett River,” Ms Mobbs said.
“The boat ramp is at the revamped ski area.”
Continuous weigh-ins will be held from 11.30am–12.30pm and from 5.30–6.30pm Saturday, and from 10–11am Sunday.
There will be a multi-draw following each weigh-in and major presentation on Sunday.
All nominations will go into a draw to have the chance to win a Minn Kota electric outboard and a $250 cash prize on Saturday night, and on Sunday all nominations have the chance to win a $250 cash prize and a fishing rod combo, which will be drawn after the multi-draws at lunchtime.
Those who are participating are reminded that Queensland boating and fishing rules apply.
Registrations will be taken from 5.30pm on Friday and from 6am on Saturday morning at Martin Love Oval. For more information, phone Ms Mobbs on 0437 653 431.
