Proposal in Paris...
Ends in Cania Dam wedding
AFTER first meeting at the Monto Show when they were just 15, Cameron and Rachel Zieth finally tied the knot this weekend.
“We started going out when we were 16 and now we are 25 so we had been dating nine years,” Mrs Zieth (nee Nobbs) said, with a laugh.
Cameron popped the question when the couple was on holidays in Paris, and Rachel said he couldn’t have chosen a more romantic location.
“We were on a river cruise and he waited until the Eiffel Tower came into view before getting down on one knee,” she said.
The Rockhampton born and bred girl moved to Monto three years ago, and works with Cameron at his family business, DJ’s Steel and Concrete.
About 140 people gathered under a marquee beside Cania Dam for the service on Saturday, before the big party afterwards.
The newlyweds plan to take their honeymoon in November, but haven’t yet decided where.
“We will just see where the road takes us,” Rachel said, with a laugh.
