ST THERESE’S School teacher Trish Hammond kicked off the school holidays off in style by getting hitched to Moura’s Dene Hammond on the shores of Cania Dam.
“It’s good to have it all done, planning it all for more than 120 people had been very full-on,” said Mrs Hammond (nee McPhail), with a laugh.
Dene popped the question when the couple was camping on their Airport Rd property outside of Monto last August.
“I met Dene when I was teaching in Biloela, some friends introduced us,” Mrs Hammond said.
Although Mrs Hammond is originally from Caboolture and Dene is from Moura, they are loving life in Monto.
“That’s why we chose Cania Dam to tie the knot,” Mrs Hammond said.
After the big day, the stellar holiday break kept on rolling, with the couple honeymooning in Hervey Bay.
“We went on a whale watching cruise and managed to see some whales so it was great,” Mrs Hammond said.
