AASHIQ’S form has been patchy this year but the six-year-old gelding’s last race at 1400m was a win at the Surat Diggers Race Club on September 20.
The Rodney Hay-trained Emperor will be one to watch after a third place and a win in his past two races. Both races were at 1400m so the six-year-old will be primed for the Ken O’Dowd Handicap over the same distance.
If Brown Doubt gets a run, it will be looking to keep its winning way in the North Burnett after winning at Monto in August. The six-year-old gelding has a record of 18-4:5:2. Race 1 – Ken O’Dowd Handicap (1400m) 1 Aashiq (Jason Judge) 2 Brown Doubt (Darryl Gardiner) 3 Emperor (Rodney Hay) 4 I Get Excited (David Deans) 5 Just For Keeps (Jason Devine) 6 Lady’s Command (Barry Gill) 7 Release Me (Sel Andrew) 8 Toucan Ukelele (Sheree Mcewan)
ON THE RUN: Lady in Front comes up on the outside of Octavanus on the final stretch of the Nanango Country Muster.
