Fun night brewing for town
Biggenden to enjoy a taste of German culture at Oktoberfest
BIGGENDEN is going to get a taste of Germany when Oktoberfest comes to the town on Saturday, October 18.
The Biggenden Apex Club event will feature European beer, German food and live bands.
Secretary Robbie Radel said the club had raised a lot of money in the past 12 months, thanks to the support of the community.
“In turn the club has donated thousands of dollars to various organisations in Biggenden and beyond.
“Now it’s the club’s chance to say thank you for this support and stage an event for the community to sit back and have some fun,” he said.
Those wanting to enter the spirit of the occasion by finding themselves an authentic outfit have been hitting up eBay.
Mr Radel said there would be prizes for best-dressed male and female, along with a lucky door prize and raffles.
The $30 admission price includes an engraved beer stein, so people will have a souvenir of the night.
Doors open at 5pm at the Biggenden Showgrounds.
Patrons will be greeted with a hall decorated in a Bavarian theme.
“There will be two bands providing entertainment, along with novelty games with a German twist,” Mr Radel said.
Tastebuds will be tempted by the German food on sale.
OKTOBERFEST IS COMING: Biggenden Apex Club members Justin Vicary and Alex Eggleston with his daughter Taylor, get into the German spirit for the upcoming Oktoberfest event at the showgrounds.
