Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

PEOPLE who once called Coalstoun Lakes home travelled back from Maryborough, Wondai, Hervey Bay and across the North Burnett for its annual reunion.

On their calendar the last Saturday in September is earmarked by many for a day not to be missed.

Organiser Vi Rackemann said it was a lovely day to sit down and reminisce.

“It is great to see people make the effort to come back as many are getting elderly,” she said.

Mrs Rackemann has a collection of memorabilia which she took for everyone to look through on the day.

“I also took my late mother’s (Gladys Staib) scrapbook which is filled with newspaper cuttings,” she said.

“It’s amazing, invitations she received to weddings, kitchen teas etc are also included.”

Another photograph has been added to the walls of this almost 100-year hall – that of early settlers Jack and Emma Powell and family.
