BUR­NETT Live­stock and Realty’s meat­works and store sale held on Mon­day at Biggen­den saw a large yard­ing of 1930 head of very mixed qual­ity.

Bul­locks over 600kg topped at 216.2c. bran­gus-cross milk-tooth bul­locks on ac­count of SR Marsh and RL Clark, Mun­dub­bera sold for 216.2c or $1091. J Sowden, Gu­nalda, sold senepol-cross two-tooth bul­locks for 207.2c or $1111.

CT and KT Hether­ing­ton, Dal­larnil, sold brah­man-cross bul­locks for 206.2c or $1111.

Heavy cows also sold strongly, top­ping 197.2c.

While cows 400–500kg suf­fered mixed re­sults top­ping at 197.2c, again the mixed yard­ing brought the av­er­age back.

The Sauer fam­ily, Mary­bor­ough, sold drought­mas­ter-cross cows for 197.2c or $928.

Jen­sco Grazing, Mt Perry, sold grain-as­sisted santa cows for 189.2c or $1095.

MJS Bar­don, Biggen­den, sold drought­mas­ter cows for 196.2c or $931.

I and LWebb, Mool­boola­man, sold charo­lais-cross cows for 197.2c or $1232.

Only a few trade heifers were yarded top­ping at 207.2c. Heavy two-tooth charo­lais heifers on ac­count of Boyd’s Con­tract­ing, Coringa, sold for 207.2c or $1042. Heavy bulls topped at 201c.

Feeder steers 400–500kg sold strongly through­out to top at 209.2c.

Steers 300–400kg were also a mixed yard­ing with the lead top­ping at 210.2c.

GB and GE Din­gle, Bund­aberg, sold drought­mas­ter and brah­man-cross milk-tooth steers to top at 210.2c or $806.

IA & KJ Rae, Wallav­ille, sold a line of drought­mas­ter milk to two-tooth steers to top at 202.2c or $777.

Bur­nett Youth Learn­ing Cen­tre, Bund­aberg, sold drought­mas­ter milk-tooth steers to top at 207.2c or $832.

WOlive, Gin Gin sold char­bray-cross milk-tooth steers to 209.2c or $906.

Weaner steers were very mixed in qual­ity and are show­ing the ef­fects of the lack of rain, sell­ing to mixed re­sults and top­ping at 186.2c.

S Sur­tees, Mun­dub­bera, sold bran­gus-cross weaner steers for 185c or $551.

D Svensson, Bund­aberg, sold an­gus-cross weaner steers for 178.2c or $572.

Maulucy Pty Ltd, Yerra, sold drought­mas­ter-cross steers for 186.2c or $393.

Heifers 300–400kg and suit­able to feed sold strongly to top at 192.2c.

AR and M McDon­ald, Rosedale, sold a qual­ity line of drought­mas­ter and charo­lais-cross heifers to top at 192.2c or $655.

DJ and K McKin­non, Win­dera, sold drought­mas­ter milk-tooth

Monto’s Fort­nightly Fat and Store sale saw 740 yarded. heifers for 178.2c or $617.

Heifers un­der 300kg and weaner heifers topped at 187.2c for the good qual­ity veal­ers but the wean­ers show­ing the ef­fects of the dry were hard to sell.

TH Noth­durft, Mool­boola­man, sold li­mousin-cross weaner heifers for 185c or $537.

WandJE Whi­taker, Her­vey Bay, sold Mur­ray grey-cross weaner heifers for 179c or $428.

J Davis, Biggen­den, sold brah­man-cross weaner heifers for 185c or $499.

Mar­kets re­mained very strong for prime cat­tle with feeder steers and heifers also very solid at Monto Cat­tle and Coun­try’s fat and store sale last week.
