2015 nom­i­na­tions now open

NORTH Bur­nett Re­gional Coun­cil and the Aus­tralia Day Coun­cil are call­ing for 2015 Aus­tralia Day nom­i­na­tions by 4.30pm on Novem­ber 28. Nom­i­nees are called for Cit­i­zen of the Year (27 years or older); Young Cit­i­zen of the Year (26 years or younger); Com­mu­nity Event of the Year; Se­nior Sports Award, Se­nior Cul­tural Award (18 years or older); Ju­nior Sports Award; Ju­nior Cul­tural Award (17 years or younger); Sports Ad­min­is­tra­tor Award. Ages are at Jan­uary 26, 2015.

Awards will be for Biggen­den, Eidsvold, Gayn­dah, Monto, Mt Perry and Mun­dub­bera com­mu­ni­ties. Act­ing Mayor Faye Whe­lan said the awards were a time to cel­e­brate and ac­knowl­edge those out­stand­ing in­di­vid­u­als and or­gan­i­sa­tions that had made a sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tion to their com­mu­nity. Nom­i­na­tion forms are avail­able from coun­cil of­fices and li­braries or on­line at www.north­bur­nett.qld.gov.au.
