Buy local push to have big rewards
THE Shop in the North Burnett campaign is a real boost to local businesses and the Biggenden Chamber of Commerce congratulates the North Burnett Regional Council for this initiative.
Biggenden Chamber of Commerce will be holding its own “shop locally” campaign of two nights accommodation for two at Kingfisher Resort on Fraser Island, return passenger ferry transfer for two, daily buffet breakfast, full-day four-wheel drive tour for two and a $100 dinner voucher.
We hope to have the shop locally campaign up and running by mid-November and it will be drawn on December 20 at the APEX Christmas Fair. The winner must be present at the draw to win the prize.
We have been assured the long-awaited Biggenden and District Phone Book will be ready to collect from the printers on Friday, so look forward to buying your copy from Monday onwards. The books will be available to purchase at The Coffee Pozzee, Biggenden Bakery and Biggenden Newsagency at a cost of $8.50 per book. The chamber thanks all the supporting businesses.
The roses in the main street gave a beautiful show of flowers to herald spring. This heatwave will be a very testing time for the council’s garden staff as they attempt to keep the gardens healthy. Our thoughts are with all members of our community who rely on the weather – may abundant rains come very soon.
It was wonderful to have a full bus of 20 people go to the blood bank on Tuesday night. Well done!
