North Bur­nett girls play for Wide Bay

BUR­NETT State Col­lege stu­dents Lucy Thomp­son, Mikaela Ross and Brittany Ballin com­peted at the AFL Queens­land U17 Youth Girls State Cham­pi­onships last week­end in Bris­bane. This was the first Wide Bay team ever at the AFL State Cham­pi­onships. Wide Bay came in third place. Play­ing in her first cham­pi­onship, Brittany Ballin was named Wide Bay’s most valu­able player. “I was so happy to be part of this team” Brittany said. The Wide Bay team is known now as the Wide Bay Wild­cats. The 10 teams in­cluded Bris­bane North, Bris­bane South, Gold Coast, Sun­shine Coast, Cairns, Wide Bay, Capri­cor­nia, Mackay, Townsville, and Dar­ling Downs.
