ON Mon­day at Biggen­den more bul­locks were yarded than at the pre­vi­ous sale but with the de­creased qual­ity the mar­ket dropped con­sid­er­ably on av­er­age although the bet­ter bul­locks were only five to 10c cheaper.

J & P Slack, Gayn­dah sold eight tooth Brah­man bul­locks for 197.2c or $1260. Gracedieu Grazing, Lowmead sold No 2 Brah­man bul­locks to top at 194.2c or $1052.

Cows suf­fered also top­ping at 170.2c for cows over 500kg av­er­ag­ing 23c cheaper.

Cows 400kg to 500kg topped at 165.2c to av­er­age 15c cheaper, while light cows un­der 400kg were 25c cheaper.

Trade heifers were of mixed qual­ity and suf­fered mixed re­sults top­ping at 174.2c to av­er­age 19c cheaper.

Jen­sco Grazing, Mt Perry sold Santa cross grain as­sisted cows for 162.2c or $963, while four tooth heifers topped at 174.2c or $880.

T & B Boyd, South Kolan sold An­gus cross cows for 170.2c or $1058.

D Messer, Niken­bah sold Drought­mas­ter cross cows for 170.2c or $1200, while two and four tooth trade steers and heifers sold from 171.2c to 195.2c or $777 to $1113.

Heavy bulls topped at 176.2c to av­er­age 9c cheaper.

The shin­ing light for the day was feeder steers over 350kg with steers 400-500kg top­ping 211.2c to av­er­age 8c dearer.

Steers 300kg to 400kg topped at 209.2c with the steers over 350kg five to 10c dearer and steers 300kg to 350kg be­ing cheaper.

Mostly milk tooth Drought­mas­ter cross steers on ac­count of Tread­stone Train­ing, Mun­dub­bera sold for 211.2c or $946.

Two and four tooth Santa steers on ac­count of BD & EM Power, Gin Gin sold for 210.2c or $917.

SW & CE Tinck­nell, Avon­dale sold Drought­mas­ter milk and two tooth steers from 208.2c to 209.2c or $830 to $887.

Steers un­der 300kg and weaner steers were cheaper right through and with the dry weather per­sist­ing buy­ers are thin on the ground.

Steers 200kg to 300kg were 10c cheaper and light steers un­der 200kg were firm. S Marsh & R Clark, Mun­dub­bera sold Drought­mas­ter weaner steers for 170.2c or $363.

SP Schuh, Eidsvold sold light con­di­tion Char­bray Bran­gus cross weaner steers to sell from 173.2c to 201.2c or $278 to $302.

GR & S McGregor, Gayn­dah sold Drought­mas­ter cross weaner steers from 165.2c to 171.2c or $311 to $405.

Feeder heifers 300kg to 400kg were mixed qual­ity with a cou­ple of bet­ter pens be­ing firm while this weight range was 17c cheaper.

Char­bray mostly milk tooth heifers on ac­count of A & A Trig­ger Grazing, Biggen­den sold for 180.2c or $649.

Char­bray Senepol cross milk tooth heifers on ac­count of AP & M Sanewski, Boouby­jan sold for 184.2c or $573.

Heifers 200kg to 300kg av­er­aged bet­ter than ex­pected with some heifers in the weight range be­ing four to six tooth they av­er­aged eight cents cheaper.

Heifers un­der 200kg av­er­aged nine cents cheaper. C Caru­ana, South Kolan sold Drought­mas­ter 12 month old heifers for 162.2c or $469.

G Kerby, Biggen­den sold Bran­gus Drought­mas­ter cross weaner heifers to top at 168.2c or $376.

Gi­goom­gan Pas­toral, Brooweena sold cross­bred weaner heifers for 167.2c or $465.

Brah­man weaner heifers on ac­count of Gi­goom­gan sold for 172.2c or $395. Two x 2 cows and calves were yarded av­er­ag­ing $425.

The 1412 head were drawn from Eidsvold, Mun­dub­bera, Mt Perry, Gayn­dah, Boouby­jan, Goomeri, Woolooga, Gu­nalda, Tiaro, Thi­noomba, Yerra, Owany­illa, Mary­bor­ough, Her­vey Bay, Bux­ton, Childers, Bund­aberg, South Kolan, Bucca, Avon­dale, Rosedale, Lowmead, Miriam Vale, Gin Gin, Booyal and all lo­cal ar­eas.

The next meat­works and store will be on Novem­ber 10.
