A TEAM of 22 support work­ers rolled into Mun­dub­bera last week on the Tel­stra Checkin Bus to an­swer ques­tions about ev­ery­thing com­mu­ni­ca­tion.

With the crew field­ing more than 200 re­quests for help about ev­ery­thing from an old flip phone to high-speed broad­band and ABN, the day panned out well.

With some ex­hausted work­ers and some sat­is­fied con­ver­sa­tion­al­ists, the ser­vice was well worth the day out.

This co­in­cided with the lo­cal Tel­stra Shop be­ing re­warded for some great com­mu­ni­ca­tion.

Pro­pri­etor Gavin Ford was thrilled to get some recog­ni­tion for his staff’s hard work.

Mr Ford said it was great to see the team from Tel­stra in town to support his shop and his clients.

“We have just won a quar­terly award from One Zero Lo­cal Com­mu­nity of $500 that we are giv­ing to the lo­cal swimming club,” Mr Ford said.

“The award just came out of the blue and the swimming club seemed to be the likely re­cip­i­ent this time of the year.”

The One Zero Lo­cal Com­mu­nity award is for stores that show great com­mu­nity en­gage­ment.

Mr Ford’s store was recog­nised in the Did You Know cat­e­gory which is awarded each quar­ter year.

The re­cip­i­ent gets a cer­tifi­cate and hands on the money to a lo­cal char­ity or club.
