A TEAM of 22 support workers rolled into Mundubbera last week on the Telstra Checkin Bus to answer questions about everything communication.

With the crew fielding more than 200 requests for help about everything from an old flip phone to high-speed broadband and ABN, the day panned out well.

With some exhausted workers and some satisfied conversationalists, the service was well worth the day out.

This coincided with the local Telstra Shop being rewarded for some great communication.

Proprietor Gavin Ford was thrilled to get some recognition for his staff’s hard work.

Mr Ford said it was great to see the team from Telstra in town to support his shop and his clients.

“We have just won a quarterly award from One Zero Local Community of $500 that we are giving to the local swimming club,” Mr Ford said.

“The award just came out of the blue and the swimming club seemed to be the likely recipient this time of the year.”

The One Zero Local Community award is for stores that show great community engagement.

Mr Ford’s store was recognised in the Did You Know category which is awarded each quarter year.

The recipient gets a certificate and hands on the money to a local charity or club.
