Selling the farm

Central and North Burnett Times - - VOICE OF THE BURNETT -

IN RESPONSE to an interview on the ABC radio Monday morning with our local (Monto) real estate agent, who is enthusiastically pursuing the real possibilities of selling farms / property in the North Burnett to foreign (Chinese) investors.

I strongly oppose the idea because many young Australians would give their eye teeth to be working their own farm and raising their families on this soil.

With foreign ownership, those same Australians will be living in workers’ huts under the charge of the foreign masters.

A solution would be government assistance for young Australians.

There are many of us getting older, wanting to sell, but not with the attitude of “anything for a dollar”.
