Clash unfortunate

Central and North Burnett Times - - VOICE OF THE BURNETT -

OUR annual Mulgildie rodeo had to be cancelled this year, as another organisation advertised an event on the same day.

People must realise it is in everyone’s interest to let the public know early when an event is on a certain date.

Maybe a date register at the council office or library could be a suggestion, whether it be golf, fishing, bowls or anything else.

Rodeos take an enormous amount of time and planning, and as an events organiser, when I was told another event was on I was devastated, even though their proceeds may go to a worthy cause.

Our advertisement costs still had to be paid, and stock owners, band, sponsors, workers etc all had to be notified, all because of a date clash.

Our loss is also a loss for rodeo enthusiasts.
