Back to school needs covered Variety the key

Central and North Burnett Times - - BACK TO SCHOOL -

MONTO News and Travel stock a variety of school supplies because students always want something a little different.

Monto newsagent John MacElroy said the most popular items promoted self expression.

“They (students) are always looking for something new, something that looks a bit different,” Mr MacElroy said.

“We always stock a lot of variety.”

After 22 years of selling school supplies, Mr MacElroy knows the next few weeks will be the newsagent’s busiest period of the year with hundreds of school books walking out the door.

“There is not a lot of difference from previous years.

“The only difference is now we are selling memory sticks and earphones,” he said.

“Things have changed, as the way education has progressed.”

While more students are using electronic devices, Mr MacElroy will be looking to expand what the newsagency stocks next year.

Anyone needing school supplies for Monto State High School, Monto State School or St Therese’s School should phone the friendly team at Monto News and Travel on 4166 1534.
