WELL, 2015 has rolled around and I cer­tainly hope every­body is look­ing for­ward to a fruit­ful year.

With a state elec­tion set for the end of Jan­uary, we have an ex­cit­ing time ahead.

Coun­cil has worked well with the cur­rent gov­ern­ment.

Be­sides the $12m up­grade to the Mt Perry-Monto Rd, the Roy­al­ties for the Re­gions pro­gram has also ap­proved fund­ing of $8.23m for ren­o­va­tion works on Monto, Mun­dub­bera and Gayn­dah air­ports.

Mingo Cross­ing Recre­ation Area is op­er­at­ing again with a new care­taker, and coun­cil work­ers have done an ex­cel­lent job build­ing the new boat ramp and es­tab­lish­ing the camp­ing area.

Stray dogs in town seem to be a grow­ing prob­lem and one that needs closer at­ten­tion. It is on the agenda for re­or­gan­i­sa­tion and we will re­port fur­ther on changes.
