Dispute ended with alleged handbag assault
A HANDBAG seems an unlikely weapon for a country bloke in his 60s.
But after allegedly beating a 46-year-old woman with her own handbag during a dispute last Thursday, a Monto man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.
“The man was the landlord of the property and was visiting a tenant,” Acting Police Sergeant Martin Darby said.
“But he became upset when an allegedly uninvited guest entered the dwelling, and that led to this incident occurring.”
The woman was left with a small amount of bruising to her head. The alleged attacker will appear in the Monto Magistrates Court at the end of February.
