Election will have an impact

Central and North Burnett Times - - VOICE OF THE BURNETT - Emily Smith

IT’S all shaping up to be an interesting few weeks in state politics.

And whatever the outcome, it’s likely to have big repercussions for the bush, so make sure you’ve marked January 31 on the calendar to have your say.

Power prices will be influenced by what becomes of our assets, with LNP proposing to lease and ALP wanting them merged.

The current government has kicked off its promise to upgrade the Monto-Mt Perry road, and many would argue roads are the biggest issue in our electorate.

Any major infrastructure promises will score points, and job creation will be paramount to the future of the North Burnett.

But while word on the street points towards a rise in numbers away from the Nationals, historically one of their safest seats in the state, the swing is not necessarily in Labor’s favour.

With seven candidates fronting for this electorate, we all have a lot to consider before the big day at the end of the month.
