Tigers roaring back into life
2014 premiers preparing for upcoming season
LACE up your boots because the football season is quickly approaching and last year’s premiers Mundubbera Tigers are signing on.
Get down to the football fields tonight at 6pm. There will be a game of touch and a barbecue.
Last year’s premiers are anticipating a sweltering season, with some tough encounters ahead.
Bert Beezley has committed to coaching for another season.
Last season’s Tigers captain Jacob Kimber said the team had been training, with only a few of the boys coming down.
“I would like to see plenty of the players get fair dinkum now we are having our sign-on,” Kimber said.
“If we are going to take it out again this year we need to get a good start – that means being fit.”
Tigers president Tracy McCarthy said coming off a very successful 2014 result, the players were excited about the upcoming season.
“It looks like we will have the majority of players returning this year and, of course, new players are always welcome,” McCarthy said.
“The boys have been looking forward to getting stuck into training and we would like to welcome any interested players to join us on Thursday night for a barbecue and game of touch football,” she said.
Juniors are welcome to head along and sign on then as well, but there will be a separate junior sign-on event held at a later date.
