Sul­li­van Live­stock yarded 2088 cat­tle at their Gympie Sale, where all de­scrip­tions hit new highs.

Cat­tle were drawn from Eidsvold, Mun­dub­bera, Mary­bor­ough, Tiaro, Ara­mara, Brooweena, Woolooga, Kilki­van, Eu­mundi, Maleny, Ke­nil­worth, Cooroy and all lo­cal ar­eas.

Char­bray steers from Jan Mull­hol­land, Widgee Cross­ing sold for $2.47 to re­turn $1267.

Drought­mas­ter steers from Chris Burke, Tiaro sold for $2.68 or $1180 and $1137.

Drought­mas­ter X steers 18 months from the Roberts Fam­ily, Sandy Creek sold for $2.67 ($1160).

Short­horn X char­bray steers from Rob and Sharon Lohse, Spring Creek sold for $2.64 ($933) and $2.58 ($956).

Here­ford X steers from Jeff Carl­son, Miva sold for $2.61 or $982.

Char­bray steers from Ted Fisher, Widgee sold for $2.57 ($863). John McCarthy, KiaOra, sold a very good draft of drought­mas­ter steers 12-14 months sell­ing for $2.61 to re­turn $872, $790 and $698.

Char­bray weaner steers from Ian Hewitt, Tagi­gan Downs sold for $2.66 for a good re­sult of $822, $770, $709 and $697.

Li­mousin X steers from Wayne Far­ring­ton, Biggen­den sold for $2.59 or $834.

Top­ping the weaner steers was a draft of drought­mas­ter steers from BLR Op­er­a­tions Pty Ltd, Gun­diah sell­ing for $2.85 to re­turn $723 and $655.

Drought­mas­ter steers from Chris Black, Bells Bridge sold for $2.79 or $797.

Drought­mas­ter steers from John Krafft, Gu­nalda sold for $2.56 or $623.

Drought­mas­ter steers from Rob Bloom­field, Cootharaba sold for $2.61 or $629.

Gen­er­ally bet­ter qual­ity weaner steers sold from $2.40 to $2.85, the next run sold from $2.00 to $2.38.

There was a very good line-up of feeder heifers sell­ing to a top of $2.55 for char­bray heifers from Grant Ger­icke while his other pens sold for $2.50 and $2.49 to re­turn $1046, $938 and $916.

Howard and Brenda Kirby, Gemini Downs sold a very good draft of heifers with drought­mas­ter heifers sell­ing for $2.53 and $2.51 to re­turn $1058 and $1045 while their bran­gus heifers sold for $2.50 or $1036 and $1058.

Tres­savale Grazing sold char­bray heifers for $2.50, $1093 while their brah­man heifers sold for $2.37 to re­turn $970, $884 and $842.

Qual­ity drought­mas­ter heifers from the Costello Fam­ily, Maleny sold for $2.52 or $955.

Char­bray heifers from John Krafft, Gu­nalda sold for $2.47, $907.

Charo­lais heifers from the Loft­house Fam­ily, Mothar Moun­tain sold for $2.39 or $905.

Li­mousin X and Drought­mas­ter X heifers from Barry Hiron, Sex­ton sold for $2.30 or $883.

Charo­lais X heifers from Ian Hewitt sold for $2.36 ($718 and $704) and $2.23 ($583).

Good con­di­tion vealer heifers gen­er­ally sold from $2.08 to $2.22.

Drought­mas­ter Cows and Calves from Bill Pukallus, Widgee sold for $1000.

Drought­mas­ter X Cows and Calves from Mun­dub­bera sold for $940 and $900.
