Suspended sentence for theft
A STAY-AT-HOME dad has been convicted in Gayndah Magistrates Court of stealing two TVs from a Bundaberg store last June.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Chris Elder said Michael Embleton and a female accomplice had removed two TVs from a store display.
Sergeant Elder said the woman may have paid $228 restitution for one TV.
Defence counsel John Willett said his client was a party to the spontaneous offence and had admitted to selling the TVs for $100 each.
Magistrate Graham Hillan ordered Mr Embleton to pay $228 restitution, in addition to convicting him of stealing.
Mr Embleton received a three-month jail term, wholly suspended for 12 months.
