ONE bottle of Jim Beam bourbon has cost Eidsvold resident Geoffrey Gooda $440.
Gooda pleaded guilty in Gayndah Magistrates Court to stealing the bourbon, while intoxicated, from Eidsvold Hotel earlier this month.
Defence counsel Mark Oliver said Gooda had left his wallet at home, and planned to pay for the bourbon later.
“When he was told the theft had already been reported to police, he did not proceed with that,” Mr Oliver said.
Magistrate Graham Hillan ordered a $400 fine and $40 restitution to the hotel.
“You shouldn’t have taken the liquor, when you had no money.”
