Low-down on seed planting
FORAGE oat growers in Queensland plan ahead for this year’s plantings with the release of the new variety guide for 2015.
Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) senior plant breeder Bruce Winter said there would be a lot of forage oat planting again this year following a dry spring and patchy summer rainfall.
“The new brochure provides guidelines to improve crops with an updated list of forage oat varieties commercially available from seed merchants,” Mr Winter said.
