AS LAWN bowler Judy Davey took home the Senior Sports Award, she asked for the establishment of a lawn bowls club in Mt Perry.

The competitive bowler, who plays for the Burnett Bowls Club in Bundaberg, said her husband Ray didn’t see much of her during the season.

“Wherever there’s a game of bowls, I’m there – I love competition,” Ms Davey said.

“I’m probably too old to play for District and to get selected for interstate, but it might happen for Over-60s.”

With a preference to play in a team, she said there was no one to argue with in singles, “just yourself”.

Her many achievements in 2014 included club champion in fours and triples; Golden Sands (Moore Park) Triples winner; A-division second runners-up in the State District Championships.
