NOMINATIONS came thick and fast in Mundubbera for Australia Day Awards.

The winners were all stunned and happy at the same time.

For the elder group of winners, it was about years of service to community, and for the young ones, it was about enthusiasm, energy and sporting skills.

There were six Baby Certificates for Mundubbera’s newest residents: Mo’Unga-Heamoni Vaka, Oliver John Alexander Ford, Elijah Joseph Barnham, Ava Louise Walsh, NevaehWillow Linsket and Darcie Maree Jacobi.

Malcolm Brown won the Senior Cultural Award and Deborah Maile the Junior Cultural Award. Sports Administrator for 2015 was Gavin Ford and the Community Event was The Policeman’s Ball.

The Service Award went to Steven Croffts and a special Recognition Certificate was given to Dave Saunders.
