KELLIE and David Millington officially launched the MARK Foundation – Moulding and Advocated Resilient Kids – at Gayndah’s Street Party last October.

The non-profit foundation, which honours the memory of their son Mark who committed suicide in 2013, will work to ensure the mental health and well-being of North Burnett youth.

During the year, the family promoted the anti-bullying message through schools, businesses and organisations, and raised awareness of mental health in suicide prevention.

As they accepted the award for Community Event of the Year, the Millingtons thanked Street Party organisers including Ken and Lorraine Mogg, and the Gayndah community for their support.

“We’re glad to call Gayndah home,” Mr Millington said.
