Join fundraising fun for Blaze Aid
THE amount of fencing Blaze Aid has done in about a month would stretch from “Monto to Biloela and beyond”.
Monto Magic Tourism Action Group believes a work ethic like that deserves support so is putting on Cash for a Cause, a family fun night and a monster auction, at the showgrounds from 4pm this Saturday to raise money for Blaze Aid.
Monto Magic vice president Brett Allen said he was looking forward to having some fun during the monster auction.
“People should come along for a fun, local evening and support people who, without them, farmers would not have been able to repair so much fencing,” he said.
“The amount of fencing cleared and new fencing put up would stretch from Monto to Biloela and beyond. They have done a lot in a short time.”
Among the items set to go under the hammer is a holiday at Dunes in 1770, four VIP passes to the Gold Coast theme parks including helicopter rides, stock feed and wine packs.

COLOURFUL CREATION: Monto artist Chris Postle donates a piece for Brett Allen and Jenny Forsyth to put under the hammer. artist Chris Postle donated one of his prints, on display now at Cafe Delicious.
“There are a lot of people supporting in their own ways. Business owners for example are paying their staff to help organise the function,” he said.
“Butchers have been cutting up donated beasts for free.”
Mr Allen also said there were more than 3000 people camped out at the two Cania caravan parks for the Easter weekend, and he hoped to see many of them come along.
“It’s a really big opportunity for us to show these visitors what our little town can do,” he said.
