The kids were quick to catch on to the bal­anc­ing act. THERE’S no bet­ter way to liven up a his­tory les­son than by tak­ing it out­side to the Monto His­tor­i­cal Cen­tre.

Monto State School stu­dents got the chance to see the town’s gold stamp in ac­tion, ring the old bell col­lec­tion and ne­go­ti­ate the “trac­tor tip” bal­anc­ing act on foot.

His­tor­i­cal buffs Col List and Harold “Spook” Ware were on hand to share their knowl­edge, and Spook even put on a black­smithing les­son.
